Last Friday night, the Sacramento Kings began their 2017 summer league campaign against the Phoenix Suns. Unfortunately, the Kings came up short against the Suns as they lost by a score of 89-85.

Final Thoughts

Despite Sacramento receiving the loss on Friday, they were many positive notes to take away from the game. From watching the game, I thought the top performers from the Kings on Friday were De’Aaron Fox and Justin Jackson.

Fox and Jackson were exceptional on Friday as they were the top two scorers for the Kings last game. The two first-round picks were efficient in scoring as Fox was great at driving to the basket and Jackson was a sniper from beyond the perimeter.

There were also some negatives from the Kings on Friday as well. Players that underperformed for the purple and white were Skal Labissiere, Georgios Papagiannis, and Buddy Hield. The two starting bigs for the Kings couldn’t find a way to be aggressive, and although Hield scored 16 points, he struggled shooting from the perimeter.

Although the Kings lost their first summer league game, there is no need panic. The Kings will have the chance to redeem themselves tonight as they will play their second summer league game against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight.
