The Sacramento Kings traded the tenth pick 2017 NBA Draft to Portland for picks 15 and 20 overall. This article gives an instant reaction to that deal.

The Sacramento Kings technically selected Zach Collins at pick ten overall, but in reality, they agreed to trade the pick to the Portland Trail Blazers.  In return they received picks 15 and 20 overall in tonight’s draft.  This article provides an instant reaction to that trade.

Instant reaction

This trade is a great move for a rebuilding Sacramento Kings team.  They are short on young talent for their roster and to add an additional first round pick is a wise move.  I believe a lot of players in the ten to 20 range in this draft are very similar players currently, so having two cracks instead of one at an NBA talent is wise.  This should improve the Kings roster in the short and long-term.  Stay tuned to see who the Kings choose at these picks.

Final Thoughts

Sacramento pulled off their first draft night trade sending pick ten to Portland for picks 15 and 20 overall.  This swap gives Sacramento three first round picks.  They selected De’Aaron Fox from Kentucky at fifth overall and can now add three more picks to that haul (two firsts and a second round selection).  Stay tuned to hear who the Kings pick.

Let us hope the Kings make those picks count and now have four players that are part of their next playoff team from the 2017 NBA Draft.
