The Sacramento Kings lost a blunder tonight to the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 109-100. Listed down below are the highs and lows of tonight’s game pertaining to the purple and white

HIGHS

Shooting Guards: The shooting guards for Sacramento were responsible for the majority of the Kings’ offense in tonight’s game. The group of Tyreke Evans, Buddy Hield, Ben McLemore, and Arron Afflalo totaled 51 points off 48.6% shooting from the floor. Without the help of the Kings’ two-guards in this game, Sacramento would have had a looooong night trying to score the ball.

Three-Point Shooting: Overall, the Kings’ offense struggled tonight, but the team’s three-point shooting was a bright spot in tonight’s match. For the game, the Kings shot 50% from the beyond the perimeter, which played a big part in the Kings staying with the Nets in this game.

Ty Lawson: Despite being questionable before game time, Lawson came out of tonight’s game with a solid performance. For the night, Lawson recorded 15 points and 9 assists for the game. He continues to be an efficient asset for the Kings’ offense no matter if he is starting or coming off the bench. Kings fans hope he can keep it up as the season goes on.

LOWS

Stopping Brook Lopez: For the exception of Kosta Koufos, no one on the Kings has the size to defend Brook Lopez, and it showed in the box score. For the night, Lopez recorded 24 points and 8 rebounds. Without DeMarcus Cousins on the team, and with young players like Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissiere, the Kings are going to have a tough time defending enforcers in the paint going forward.

Offense: Although the perimeter shooting was solid for Sacramento, their overall offense was wildly disappointing tonight. The Brooklyn Nets for the season allow 114.4 points per game off 46.3% shooting from the floor. The Kings tonight scored just 100 points while shooting 43.2% from the hardwood. Sacramento had the opportunity to take advantage of a poor defensive squad tonight, but unfortunately for Kings fans, they failed.

Slow Starts: For some reason, no matter what the starting lineup is, the Kings just can’t start games/halves correctly. In both the first and third quarters of tonight’s game, when both team’s starting lineups were on the hardwood, the Kings were seriously outmatched by the Nets. As a result, the Kings were outscored in the first quarter 35-31 and were outscored in the third quarter 24-18 which helped the Nets beat the Kings in the end.
