Should The Sacramento Kings, DeMarcus Cousins Part Ways?

DeMarcus Cousins is no doubt one of the best if not the best big man in the NBA today.

His ability to power through others in the paint, distribute the ball, and also shoot jump shots for a man his size is revolutionary.

The numbers also prove that Cousins is a force to be reckoned with. In the 415 games that he has put on a Sacramento Kings uniform, Boogie has averaged 20.2 points and 10.8 rebounds a game. A walking double-double.

He recently concluded his best statistical season by averaging a whopping 26.9 points and 11.5 rebounds, which received him All-Star honors in February and most likely a spot in one of the top three All-NBA teams.

Although Cousins has shown through his play and talent that he can be a formidable star in this league, the team accolades have not been impressive during his time in Sacramento. During his stretch (6 seasons), the Kings have had a record of 164-312 (34.5%) and have been absent from the playoffs in all six seasons.

With that being said, is it time for the Kings front office to part ways with the All-Star big man? We heard from some of you through Twitter and the majority of you want to keep Boogie intact for the future.

Honestly, it would be hard to press the “Deal” button for Cousins as well. It’s hard to grade a player on how he plays when he is constantly playing for coaches that he has not been able to gel with. Hopefully, the Kings can get it right this time with their coaching search.

The only scenario where Cousins should be traded is if the Kings are guaranteed to have a sure win in the deal. This means that a team would have to offer something outlandish on their part where the Kings can build on. An example would be transferring multiple draft picks plus solid players in return for Sacramento. Kind of dream world scenario.
