Sacramento Kings Are Stuck In an Eternal Deep Freeze

The Sacramento Kings really took it to the New York Knicks on Monday night. The offense was clicking, the defense was tenacious, and the team chemistry was never better displayed. It was an all-around great win by the Kings, one that this team desperately needed.

Wait, what’s that? The Kings didn’t play on Monday night because of a blizzard? Oh, my bad.

Well, let me take back everything I just wrote in the first paragraph. Or you know what? I won’t, because for a long time, we have been waiting to type those exact words in the aftermath of a Kings victory.

New York was the perfect place to get off the losing bandwagon, as the Knicks are horribly woeful this season despite going on a mini winning streak. But Mother Nature foiled what could had been a Kings victory, but the Kings would rebund with a strong game in Toronto on Wednesday night, and get a great victory.

  • Wait, what’s that? The Raptors whooped the Kings 119-102 despite an extra day of rest? Oh, my bad.

So the Kings struggles continued in Toronto, and truthfully, this game really caught nobody by surprise. The Kings are being horribly coached, as evidence by the lack of execution on the floor, especially in the second half.

The Raptors have eaten up teams that are below .500 at home, and with the Kings were no different. Once again, the third quarter was the turning point, with the Raptors ripping off 39 points to break open a tied ballgame at the half.

Stop me if you heard the above paragraph before.

As I wrote in an earlier column, it is time for us to let go of the thought that he Kings can make the playoffs this year, because it’s not going to happen. Sure, the Kings playoff hopes dashed about a month ago, but now we can say for certain that the postseason run is truly over.

The Kings are in an eternal deep freeze, and maybe it’s about time to take a box of dynamite, or a Russian nuclear missile, an blow this roster up sky high. Then, maybe next season may actual hold some optimism.

Hey! Get Russia on the phone, stat!
