DeMarcus Cousins 'fine' after Team USA injury scare

On Thursday afternoon the basketball world and we Sacramento Kings fans in-particular suffered a scare after DeMarcus Cousins went down with injury during a Team USA practice in Chicago.

Cousins, who gingerly made his way off the court with training staff immediately placed ice on his knee and spoke with trainers who sent him for a precautionary MRI. Thankfully the results have come back clean and significant injury was avoided.

DeMarcus Cousins confirmed the news on social media, suggesting he was ‘fine’.

There’s no official word on the nature of the injury at this time, though it is expected that Cousins will be back to his normal self in a matter of days. However, he still remains out for Team USA’s contest against Brazil which will take place on Saturday.

Video of the injury shows there was some understandable concern when Boogie went down.

Nice of Derrick Rose to show his concern.

Meanwhile, players across the league showed their support for Cousins, like Roy Hibbert of the Indiana Pacers who tweeted get well messages to the Sacramento Kings big man.

Players, fans and organizations have all of course been on a heightened alert for non-NBA related injuries in recent weeks after Paul George went down for the season.
