It’s been said that a happy wife is a happy life. One could say the same translates to professional sports as a happy franchise player is a loose and content team. Thankfully, the Kings have an extremely happy franchise player as DeMarcus Cousins couldn’t help but gush over what the Sacramento Kings are doing.
Speaking to the Bee’s Ailene Voisin, DeMarcus Cousins was asked about the offseason and if he liked what general manager Pete D’Alessandro was doing with the roster. Boogie held no punches, praising the moves.
I love what we’re doing. Love what we’re doing. Pete (D’Alessandro), he’s real aggressive, going after stuff, trying for players we probably have no chance at getting. One of these times we’re going to get lucky, and in the past we wouldn’t do that. Do you know how good that feels? Since Vivek (Ranadive), Pete, Michael (Malone), Mullie (Chris Mullin), Mitch (Richmond) and those guys walked through the damn door, things have been on the rise. I am totally behind it.
DeMarcus Cousins certainly isn’t the type of player to sugarcoat a situation, so he seems overly genuine in his assessment of D’Alessandro and the rest of the Kings front office.
Cousins also gave some love to rookie Nik Stauskas and says he’s excited to see what he can bring the floor, suggesting that he can ‘really play’.
All in all, nice to see Cousins on board with the Kings front office which understandably wasn’t always the case under the Maloof ownership.
