A couple of weeks ago, the Sacramento Kings decided to ask fans which logo they preferred to honor the teams 30th anniversary in the capital of California. There were two choices but it seems as if the fans spoke loud and clearly as the team released the new commemorative 30th anniversary logo on Tuesday morning.
Season ticket holders voted in an online survey as to which logo they preferred and the vintage script won out, featuring the color scheme used by the team up until the 1994 season when the current colors were incorporated.
“We’re excited to unveil a new logo that celebrates three decades of unforgettable Kings basketball in Sacramento,” said Sacramento Kings President Chris Granger. “The logo honors the past as we move forward with the future and the new downtown Entertainment and Sports Center (ESC). The next few years will prove to be the most dynamic, and I want to thank our fans for their unwavering support.”
The Kings will be celebrating the anniversary all season long and will have plenty of merchandise incorporating the logo and looks for sale at the team store, like this t-shirt.
I have to say – pretty sure that’s going to be a big seller.
