Sacramento Kings sign Willie Reed for remainder of season

The Sacramento Kings have played musical chairs with their open rosters spots in recent weeks and continue to do so, this after signing Willie Reed for the remainder of the season.

Reed, a 6’10 power forward has been playing for the Springfield Armor of the NBA’s D-League and has averaged 14.8 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.6 blocks and 59 percent shooting this season.

The Sacramento Kings have signed forward Willie Reed of D-League’s Springfield for the rest of the season, agent Joel Bell tells RealGM.

If the name sounds somewhat familiar, it’s because Reed did participate in with the Kings during the 2012 training camp before eventually finding his way to the Memphis Grizzlies, though he was released before ever appearing in a regular season game.

The 23-year-old spent two seasons at Saint Louis University, though was undrafted as he dealt with an alleged sexual assault incident and was ruled academically ineligible after being reinstated by the school.

After not renewing the contract of Orlando Johnson, Sacramento has an open roster spot. Royce White‘s ten-day contract also expired, though the team has not yet decided if they will bring him back.
