About a week ago, rumors leaked that the Sacramento Kings had intentions to sign former first round pick Royce White.
A few items needed to be dealt with before White and the Kings could agree to terms, but according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports the deal is all but done and White will be assigned to the Reno Bighorns – the Kings NBDL affiliate.
The Sacramento Kings are giving free-agent forward Royce White an NBA opportunity through their D-League affiliate, a source told Yahoo Sports.
White will be signed to a 10-day contract where he’ll play four games with the Bighorns. The Kings will evaluate his progress and will either let him go, sign him to another 10-day contract or bring him up the the NBA roster.
The former Iowa State star was the 16th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft but has dealt with a handful of issues during his short tenure in the NBA including a reported anxiety issue that hampered him from flying.
There’s never been much question about White’s talent, but rather his ability to harness it on an NBA court.
