Sacramento Kings worked out former first round pick Royce White

The Sacramento Kings are set to sign Orlando Johnson to a 10-day contract, but that may not be the only move the team has in store.

According to Jonathan Feigen, the Kings worked out former Iowa State star Royce White recently.

Soon to have a roster spot, heard Kings worked out former Rockets 1st-round pick Royce White. Could sign him after Fredette clears waivers.

Of course, the news came after rumors broke saying that Johnson would sign with the Kings, so it’s possible White was passed over for Johnson – or it’s possible the Kings could be in the market to add both.

White, if you’ll recall, was an all-around talent at Iowa State and was drafted 16th overall by the Houston Rockets during the 2012 NBA Draft.

There was speculation that White could have been drafted earlier, if not for some ‘flags’ which namely included his lack of desire to fly from his reported anxiety issues.

The Rockets were more than patient with White given his talent, but eventually became fed up and traded him to the Philadelphia 76ers this past offseason.

White was released by the Sixers earlier this season.
