One could say DeMarcus Cousins took a step (or a few leaps) backwards on Tuesday evening as the volatile big man lost his cool during a blowout against the Houston Rockets.
Cousins, unhappy with calls, could be seen laughing on the baseline before he was given a technical foul.
Unsure of what he did to get such a call, Cousins looked on in disbelief before the broadcast broke to commercial.
Upon the return, Cousins had been ejected.
Head coach Michael Malone was seen arguing with Courtney Kirkland near the foul line as Cousins, from the bench, listened in on the conversation during a stoppage in play. Hearing something he didn’t agree with, the former Wildcat stormed over to their conversation and began yelling at Kirkland before he was retrained and further ejected.
The big man continued to yell at Kirkland as he was escorted off the court, making multiple bids to return to the floor despite being held back by coaches and fellow players.
It marked Cousins’ fourteenth and fifteenth technical fouls – one away from a mandatory one-game suspension.
