Ben McLemore may try 720 dunk during NBA's All-Star Dunk Contest

Some believe the holy grail of dunks is the 720. Me? I’m not totally sold on that idea, though it’s understandably one of the most difficult and most visually impressive dunks there is.

And it’s possible, Ben McLemore may attempt to include it in his arsenal when the Sacramento Kings rookie hits the floor in New Orleans on Saturday night.

McLemore spoke to CelticsBlog.com about the upcoming festivities and hinted he may attempt to bust out the famed (though nearly impossible) slam.

“I was thinking about that, nobody has put that up,” McLemore told CLNS Radio. “But we’ll see.”

Unlike previous years, there will be individual winner come the 2014 Slam Dunk Contest as the East will be pitted against the West. Fans will be able to vote for a ‘Dunker of the Night’ via text message and online voting, though it will be a team event.

Regardless, if McLemore can actually land the 720 – assuming he even attempts it – that should all but wrap up the evening.
