Ben McLemore left off Rising Stars Challenge roster

It’s been an up and down season for Sacramento Kings rookie, Ben McLemore. But considering he was one of the more hyped rookies coming into the 2013 NBA Draft and the fact that he has produced (and has a Rookie of the Month award under his belt), one would have assumed the former Kansas Jayhawk would have been named to the NBA’s Rising Stars Challenge.

You’d have assumed wrong, unfortunately.

McLemore was left off the roster much to the disappointment of fans who expected to have at least an All-Star representative in the Rising Stars game.

That said – there’s still a possibility McLemore could make the game. One would have to assume he’s towards the top of the list if the tilt needs a replacement player. Still, disappointing for fans who expected to see McLemore participating in New Orleans.

Despite the lack of the Kings rookie, the game will be loaded with young stars.

You can tune in on TNT at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, February 14th.
