Gay could return against Nuggets, Cousins still doubtful

The Sacramento Kings will return to the court on Sunday evening – two days after suffering a heartbreaking loss to the Indiana Pacers in overtime.

The Kings hung tough with the mighty Pacers and barring a miracle shot and phantom foul call, likely would have hung on with a win in regulation. It wasn’t meant to be, but it was a mighty fine effort considering Sacramento was missing both Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins.

That hopefully won’t be the case on Sunday as Gay is feeling better and could possibly play tomorrow, this according to Sean Cunningham. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Cousins who still has swelling his ankle.

Kings coach Michael Malone says Rudy Gay is ahead of DeMarcus Cousins coming back from injury. Possible Rudy will play tomorrow #NBAKings

There’s no word on when Cousins will return, though hopefully it’s not very far down the road. X-ray’s were negative, so it’s simply a matter of pain tolerance and swelling at this point.
