The Sacramento Kings are still said to be one of the most aggressive teams in the NBA’s trade market – a sentiment that Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders confirmed with a recent tweet suggesting the Kings are still attempting to trade guard Marcus Thornton.

what are your thoughts on a possible marcus thornton for omer asik trade? —> I know Sacramento wants to move Marcus

The Bayou Bomber has been nothing short of awful for Sacramento this season, looking woeful outside of a rogue game here and there.

As the second highest paid player on the team, would one assume the Kings would love to forgo the final year of Thornton’s $8.5 million dollar contract, especially given the offensive additions of Rudy Gay and the emergence of Isaiah Thomas.

Getting much of a return for the former LSU product isn’t going to be easy given his recent play or lofty salary, but one could argue just removing his salary from the books in a straight salary dump would be equally beneficial to the team.

The last few games with Thornton shows if he can get shots he can still score. The Bucks would be the best spot as they are not happy with Sanders and our interior defense plain sucks. Bringing Sanders in for defense would be great as he does not require shots and would not get in the way of Cousins, Thomas, and Gay
