NBA fines Sacramento Kings head coach Michael Malone $25,000 dollars

The pockets of Sacramento Kings head coach Michael Malone will be a bit lighter this afternoon, this after the NBA decided to fine him for his actions after Friday night’s loss in Memphis.

Malone, unhappy with the final moments paraded around on the court once the final buzzer had sounded and was seen giving an earfull to referees. The NBA of course didn’t take too kindly to that and fined him $25,000 for failing to leave the court.

NBA also fines Kings Coach Michael Malone $25,000 for verbal abuse of officials and not proceeding directly 2 locker room after game Friday.

For those that missed the conversational final moments which lead to Malone’s (correct) argument:

It’s likely Malone would have been let off the hook had he not referred to the officials as ‘cowards’ as he was leaving the court, but his (hilarious) word choice likely did him in.

”I thought it was an awful call,” Malone said in his post-game comments, according to the Associated Press. ”I didn’t see a jump (ball). It looked like to me the official made the call and was running the other way.”
