NBA Rumors: Holdup in Kings-Nuggets trade talks due to Travis Outlaw?

On the surface, it seems a bit strange the Sacramento Kings and Denver Nuggets have yet to complete a deal for point guard, Andre Miller.

Sacramento is in need of a backup point guard. Denver doesn’t appear to have much interest in retaining Miller, who they recently suspended for a verbal alternation with head coach Brian Shaw. Sacramento has somewhat attractive trade pieces in Marcus Thornton, who they’ve reportedly offered up – so what’s the hang in a potential deal?

Travis Outlaw.

Yep. According to Sam Amick, the Kings insistence that Outlaw be moved in the Miller trade is the main reason no deal has been completed:

The Sacramento forward is owed $3 million this season and another $3 million next, and the Kings’ insistence that he be included in a possible deal with the Nuggets is one of the many reasons it hasn’t happened (and may not).

Geoff Petrie‘s mistakes – still haunting your dreams one poor roster move at a time.
