Sacramento Kings reportedly call players only meeting

Amid rumors there was turmoil in the Sacramento Kings’ locker room, team leaders DeMarcus Cousins and Isaiah Thomas called a players only meeting on Sunday in hopes of squashing any problems one may have had.

Per Sean Cunningham:

DeMarcus Cousins & Isaiah Thomas called a players only meeting yesterday. Cousins says it was very positive and very much needed

Thomas, for what it’s worth suggested Sunday evening that the Kings locker room was ‘good’ and that rumored problems were essentially over exaggerated.

In recent games, players had been seen bickering and barking at each other which lead to speculation there were problems, however at 10-22, it seems more likely that the constant struggles were wearing thin on the roster as opposed to a particular player(s).

Despite the recent home losses to the 76ers and Bobcats, the Kings had been playing well – which included wins over the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets – so hopefully this was nothing more than a stumbling block as the team looks to get back on the right track.
