The Sacramento Kings are said to be one of the most active teams in the trade market right now, so it’s within reasonable expectation to have their name attached to any available player.
While rumors broke a few days ago about the Kings’ interest in Miller, the Bynum news is relatively new – though it’s a little more suspect in nature.
The exiled center is mere hours away from being released by the Cleveland Cavaliers if not traded (as his contract is not fully guaranteed if he’s no longer on the roster as of Tuesday) and according to sources such as Sam Amico, the Kings are potentially involved in a possible deal as a facilitator:
Execs not involved in talks say they’re hearing
#Kings possibly among facilitators in potential Bynum trade. Speculative, but worth noting.
Amico has a history of being very hit and miss (more miss) so such a report needs to be taken with a heavy grain of salt.
Meanwhile, the more accurate Adrian Wojnarkowsi of Yahoo Sports reports that the Denver Nuggets are trying to rid themselves of point guard Andre Miller in the next 24-48 hours and cited the Kings as a proactive team in the trade talks:
Kings have been proactive in talks for exiled Denver guard Andre Miller, sources tell Yahoo. Multiple teams checking with Denver on Miller.
