The Sacramento Kings have been rumored for weeks to be a potential destination of Minnesota Timberwolves forward Derrick Williams and according to ESPN’s Marc Stein, those rumors are quickly turning into a reality.

Per Stein:

Twolves are in advanced discussions with Sacramento on a deal that would swap Derrick Williams for Luc Mbah A Moute

Mbah A Moute was acquired by the Kings just a few short months ago in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks, where Sacramento sent out two future second round draft picks.

Williams, 22, was the second overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and had a fine 2012-13 season, though was nothing more than solid in his rookie campaign and has looked to regress in Minnesota this season.

The former Arizona Wildcat finished the 2012-13 season averaging 12 points, 5.5 rebounds, and a half steal and block in 24 minutes a game, doing so on 43% from the floor.

Mbah A Moute meanwhile just recently began playing for the Kings, despite being acquired before training camp as the talented defender has struggled to recover from knee tendinitis. The Cameroonian player has a known history of knee problems, which is why Sacramento could be willing to move him in a deal.
