When Vivek Ranadive took control of the Sacramento Kings, he made two things clear to DeMarcus Cousins. He wanted the big man to be the franchise player and he wanted Cousins to act like it.
So far, so good.
Cousins has been a stat machine on the court and off, he’s been doing what he can to be a leader which includes inviting all of his teammates (at least those that were interested) to the recent Drake concert at Sleep Train Arena.
The former Kentucky Wildcat, who has his own web series on YouTube documented the fun evening in the below video:
Say what you will about Cousins – the guy is giving it all he’s got. He’s by no means perfect and he’s not without warts, but he’s taking all the right steps to being a leader both on and off the court.
And for a team and franchise that was about as disconnected as one can be under Maloof rule, it’s an amazing sight to see.
