Parody New Orleans Pelicans mascot gets into social media battle with Kings' mascot Slamson

A few weeks ago, the New Orleans Pelicans debuted their new mascot – Pierre the Pelican.

Initial reception wasn’t exactly positive as Pierre the Pelican looks a bit similar to a genetically built bird who has every intention to eat you in your nightmares.

Needless to say, Pierre has been quite the hot topic on social media.

Also a hot topic? The fun-loving exchange between a parody Pierre and Sacramento Kings mascot, Slamson, as the two engaged in a fun war-of-words on Twitter recently.

As we all know, Tyreke Evans was ‘traded’ to the Pelicans in the offseason for current Kings point guard Greivis Vasquez and Evans’ brother, who’s still very entrenched in the Sacramento community decided to introduce Slamson to Pierre. That lead to the amusing following exchange between the two accounts:

Unfortunately for parody Pierre and Slamson, the two teams don’t square off for another month as the Pelicans’ next scheduled game against the Kings is on December 23rd.
