The Sacramento Kings finished off the Brooklyn Nets with a 21-point victory on Wednesday evening, but the win was just their second in seven attempts.
The slow start has apparently had the Kings’ front office hitting the phones, at least according to Hoopsworld’s Alex Kennedy who reported the Kings (along with the Cleveland Cavaliers) have been exploring potential trades as the teams are disappointed with their slow starts:
CLE and SAC have been working the phones and exploring possible trades, per source. Both teams are open to making a move after slow start.
Kennedy doesn’t mention any names, though, we’ve heard constant rumors that teams continue to gauge the availability of Jimmer Fredette, who likely will be dealt by the February trade deadline.
Other potential names who could be on the move are Marcus Thornton as the Kings wouldn’t mind shedding his salary, along with John Salmons who thanks to his cheap buyout essentially has become an expiring contract.
We’ll continue to monitor such talks if anything else comes of the reported rumors.
