For the past few seasons, Panini trading cards (formally known as Donruss) has had exclusive rights to NBA rookies and their likeness (at least for trading cards), this year being no different.
So when Ben McLemore stopped by the Panini photo shoot recently, he also caught up with GlobalGrind.com to dish on life outside of basketball.
The former Kansas Jayhawk told Global Grind that he wasn’t sure he what he was going to spend his first NBA check on, though, was sure at some point he’d be buying his Mother a home with his guaranteed deal.
McLemore of course came out of a rough situation and family life, so while buying his Mother a home seems somewhat of a cliche thing to do, it probably means more to the both of them than it does in most situations when an athlete purchases a home for their family.
The seventh overall pick also dished on a variety of entertainment topics as well, stating that he really enjoys listening to Lil Wayne prior, suggesting it pumps him up and that he wouldn’t be opposed to fellow YMCMB member and rapper Nicki Minaj sitting courtside, whom he apparently has a small crush on.
