Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive has been in Las Vegas this week and was spotted chumming it up with DeMarcus Cousins, who is in town for Team USA’s practice.

Cousins has recently expressed his commitment and loyalty to Sacramento and now the two sides are reportedly set to meet for discussions pertaining to a contract extension, this according the Sacramento Bee.

Per Jason Jones:

BTW, I hear the Kings will be meeting the DeMarcus Cousins’ agent, Dan Fegan, to discuss contract extension in the near future.

Fegan of course is the man who hinted that Cousins would request a trade if his demands for a maximum contract weren’t met, but that was nothing more than agent chatter on my end. Fegan has a reputation of playing hardball (he’s Dwight Howard‘s agent, so that should explain everything) and his representation of clients usually involves the threat of leaving.

Cousins’ friend, John Wall, who is also repped by Fegan is nearing an $80 million dollar contract extension over five years – a figure Cousins will be in the ballpark of.
