Few players cause more internal fan issues than DeMarcus Cousins. There appears to be little middle ground as he’s a love him/hate him type player, not only across the league but with his own fan base as well.
Some what Cousins traded as they feel he’s nothing more than a ticking time bomb. Other’s see him as a premier building block.
However you feel towards Cousins, it sounds as if he’s here to stay – at least for now.
According to Cousins, via the Sacramento Bee, the Kings have been asking the former Kentucky Wildcat what type of players he wants around him:
Cousins also likes that D’Alessandro has asked for his input on free agents.
“Me and Pete talk,” Cousins said. “He asks me what players I like, what players I don’t like. We’ve been going back and forth about that. That never happened before. I believe that it should have, but hey … “
More than that, Cousins says he’s loyal to Sacramento, stating that he wants to be here for the long term, despite rumors that his agent will push for a trade if not granted the desired maximum extension:
“I’m loyal to my city,” he said. “That’s one thing I am. I’m loyal. That’s the biggest thing. I’m not going to give up on it.”
“I do want to be a King,” he said. “I do.”
Cousins spoke to the Bee’s Jason Jones and talks about the Kings offseason acquisitions and more, which you can read here.
