ESPN: Tyreke Evans Agrees To Offer Sheet With New Orleans Pelicans

It’s been a roller coaster of a day for Tyreke Evans rumors. First he didn’t want to leave Sacramento. Then he wanted out. Then he didn’t want out. Now he wants out, at least according to ESPN’s Marc Stein who reports Evans is currently engaging in talks with the New Orleans Pelicans to verbally agree to their four year, $44 million dollar offer sheet.

Per Stein:

Earlier story clearly pointed in this direction, but just heard Pelicans & Tyreke Evans are indeed now in process of finalizing offer sheet

James Ham and Jonathan Santiago of Cowbell Kingdom reported earlier in the day that Evans would inform the Pelicans of his intention to sign if the Kings didn’t make a defined decision on his Sacramento future tonight. Apparently they didn’t do that.

For Evans, it’s simply looking out for his best interest. The Pelicans offer is unlikely to be topped and to leave that much money on the table, despite being open to a Sacramento return just isn’t good business.

The offer sheet can’t officially be signed until July 10th and the Kings will then have three days to match it.
