Wojo: Sacramento Kings Trying To Trade Up In 2013 NBA Draft For Ben McLemore?

I know, I know, ever since the whole “first and goal” thing, Wojo hasn’t had the best reputation with Sacramento King fans. That said – he’s always been a solid reporter and when he reports news on your team, you take it with a lot more seriousness than you do most.

Which is why his most recent tweet about the Kings attempting to move up in tonight’s NBA Draft has set the Kings fandom ablaze.

Per Wojo:

Sacramento has been aggressive in trying to move up from seventh in the draft, league sources tell Y! Likely target: Ben McLemore.

On the surface, it’s a bit of an odd fit given the gluten of guards the Kings currently have. Then again, none of those said guards have really been getting it done and with both Tyreke Evans and Marcus Thornton potentially on the move (Evans is a restricted free agent, Thornton, trade bait) the Kings front office may want to clean house completely and start with McLemore as their backcourt future.

Whether or not the Kings are able to get anything done, we’ll see, but it should be a fun few hours.

Sam Amick points out the potential swap could come with the Phoenix Suns.
