Maybe this report will put the Jimmer Fredette rumors to sleep.
Few ‘insiders’ have more grasp of the Kings than former beat writer Sam Amick, who chimed in with what he’s heard about the Jimmer Fredette rumors – or should I say, lack of, apparently.
While multiple ESPN sources have hinted that the Kings would be willing to trade Fredette for a first round pick, current Sacramento Kings beat writer Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee said yesterday that didn’t look to be the case. Now former beat writer Sam Amick says the Kings have not had discussions about moving the former BYU star:
It’s draft season,so lots of smoke. Along those lines, I’m told Kings have had no discussions w/ teams about trading Jimmer Fredette.
Both Chad Ford and Marc Stein of ESPN suggested that the Kings had talks with both the Utah Jazz and Indiana Pacers, but Amick’s report all but squashes those ideas.
For now, it appears Jimmer will be staying in Sacramento, though, I’d still venture to guess the Kings are attempting to acquire an additional first round pick despite not using Jimmer as bait.
