The Sacramento Kings may not have a general manager in place (outside of  lame duck Geoff Petrie), but they do have a head coach as they agreed on a four year deal with Mike Malone this afternoon.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski:

Golden State’s Mike Malone has reached an agreement in principle on a four-year deal to coach the Sacramento Kings, sources tell Y! Sports.

Malone, who as Wojo mentions was previously an assistant coach with the Golden State Warriors, has a lengthy NBA resume which includes stops with the New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans prior to his 2011 arrival in Oakland.

The contract, which is guaranteed for three seasons, has a fourth year team option, according to Wojo. The deal is reportedly worth around $9 million dollars if the fourth year is picked up.

Next in line for the Kings is to fulfill their general manager position, currently held by Petrie, though his contract is set to expire in a matter of weeks and he is not expected to be retained in his current capacity.
