Maloofs Sale Of Kings To Sacramento Group Nearly Done

Yesterday afternoon we learned that George Maloof expressed to David Stern and the NBA that he would like to expedite the sale of the Sacramento Kings and expedite it they did.

According to multiple sources, the Maloof family and the Sacramento based investment group lead by Vivek Ranadive have agreed upon a deal that will transfer ownership, a sale that should be completed by the end of the week – possibly as soon as tomorrow.

Per Carmichael Dave:

Multiple sources: The sale of the Sacramento Kings between Vivek Ranadivé and the Maloofs is imminent and is currently being finalized.

Per Jonathan Santiago:

KJ & staff both feel that agreement to sell #SacKings to Vivek Ranadivé group will indeed be finalized within next day or so.

George Maloof spoke to KCRA’s David Bienick earlier this morning as the two crossed paths at Phoenix International as George was waiting for his connecting flight to Las Vegas. George expressed that while Chris Hansen would still like to become part of the Sacramento ownership group, there was optimism that a deal between the Maloof family and the Vivek group would be completed:

Just spoke with George Maloof at airport in Phoenix. Says he believes deal will be reached with Ranadive.
