The NBA scheduled a conference call this afternoon to discuss more about the Sacramento Kings’ potential sale and relocation. Some suggested that it was a pre-scheduled event that was nothing more than a primer for their meeting in Dallas this coming Wednesday, others suggested that it was in response to the two new pieces of information that leaked this weekend, which was the increased bid from the Hansen-Ballmer group as well as the announcement that they had agreed to a backup deal for 20 percent of the Kings franchise.

If you ask me – the conference call was nothing more than a scheduled meeting given the NBA would have known of the Hansen-Ballmer actions well in advance of the public, but either way, it appears the original recommendation handed down by the NBA’s Board of Governors will stick as no new recommendations were made during the conference call.

Per the Sacramento Bee’s Dale Kasler:

Am told the relo/finance committee conf call is over but no recommendations made on #NBAKings

For those who’ve asked: I think this relo/fin conf call was just to update. No votes taken. I guess Apr 29 relo recommendation still stands

A final resolution (well, at least a decision on the Kings’ fate from the NBA) is expected at some point in the next 48 hours or so when the NBA hands down their ruling from Dallas on Wednesday.
