And the noise keeps coming today.
Not even an hour after Senator Darrell Steinberg said the Sacramento bid was a dollar for dollar match to Seattle’s, then retracted, now Tony Bizjak and Ryan Lillis of the Sacramento Bee are reporting that the Maloofs have given the potential Sacramento ownership group a deadline to come up with an offer for the Kings.
According to Lillis, the Maloofs have told the Sacramento group that they have until 5PM this coming Friday, April 12th, to submit a “backup offer”:
BREAKING: Maloofs give Sacramento group 5 pm Friday deadline to submit matching “back-up” offer for
In addition, Maloofs have said that if the offer is not given by Friday’s deadline or if it doesn’t match the Seattle offer, that the talks with the Sacramento group are “over”:

Lastly, the Bee’s Tony Bizjak reports that if the offer is matching that of Seattle’s, the Maloof family will consider it as a “serious offer”.
Source tells Bee’s
@TonyBizjak if the Maloofs get matching offer by Friday, they’ll consider it as serious proposal should NBA deny Seattle
In true Maloof fashion, it’s all about drama and chest puffing. Time to see what comes of it.
