Vivek Ranadive, the lead investor behind Sacramento’s bid to keep the Kings in the California capital said today on KHTK that Golden State Warriors owner and majority investor Joe Lacob, has been supportive in Ranadive’s attempts to purchase the Kings franchise.
@JasonRoss1140 that Warriors owner Joe Lacob has been supportive of his efforts to buy the #SacKings.
Ranadive’s heavy stake in ownership of the Warriors franchise (sources close to team say its as great as 25%) led some to suggest that Lacob would vote in favor of the Seattle move simply to retain Vivek’s financial stake in the franchise, though, that does not to appear to be the case – at least not on the surface.
Vivek also suggested that finances are no issue with the Kings investment group, saying each major investor could write a check big enough to handle any circumstance they’d encounter.

@CBSSports1140: “Each of these guys could write whatever check is necessary. We want to make sure we’re successful”
Ranadive suggested that with a 21st century arena, a heavily funded investment group, supportive fan base and community, he would find it difficult that the NBA would deem it necessary to leave such a market, though closed saying he could simply be having “happy ears”.
