Losing gets to people. It gets to fans. It gets to players. It especially gets to emotional players, say like a DeMarcus Cousins, who delivered one of the best backhands in recent memory last night.
After sitting the fourth quarter in last night’s tilt versus the Golden State Warriors – and only playing 20 minutes overall – DeMarcus made sure to let his feelings be known after the game by….serving food and drinks to media and fellow teammates?
Yes, that’s exactly what he did.
Per Sean Cunningham:
In the locker room, DeMarcus Cousins in a giving mood, getting Patrick Patterson his postgame BBQ plate & offering media Gatorade
Cousins was doing these kind gestures jokingly, saying he had “a lot of energy”
Cousins of course was emphasizing his abundance of energy thanks to his low playing time and time spent on the bench – something he’s becoming more and more familiar with. In his past five games, the former Kentucky big man has had minute totals that would make a sixth man blush – 20, 27, 23, 20 and 23.
Cousins, who played awful last night and is 3 for his last 22, really didn’t have a lot of room to talk given his recent play, especially with talent like Patrick Patterson and Jason Thompson playing at a higher level. Still – Cousins, who appears to have grown tired of head coach Keith Smart simply joins into the long list of complaints and complainers, both from fans, players and even the family of players who’ve taken their frustration with Smart’s rotation to Twitter multiple times.
