Sacramento Kings Moving To Seattle - Sold To Investor Chris Hansen

Absolute devastation for Sacramento and the greater area.

Per Wojo:

The Maloofs are finalizing an agreement to sell the Sacramento Kings to the Hansen-Ballmer led Seattle group, sources tell Yahoo! Sports

Rumors had leaked earlier this morning that the Kings had been sold thanks to a tweet from the daughter of NBA agent David Falk, but the tweets were quickly removed and denial came from all avenues, including those closest and most respected in King rumors. However, the hush hush was just that as the Maloof family agreed to sell the Sacramento Kings to Seattle business tycoon Chris Hansen and the Hansen–Ballmer led group, this according to Yahoo Sports.

It is important to remember that this deal is not official – the NBA, who hasn’t exactly been helpful in the Maloof’s pursuit of relocation in the past, has to approve the deal – but dealing with a sale is much easier than relocation and there’s no way to make good news of this for Sacramento fans. It will take a pretty big oversight for any purchase to be voided.

We’ll have more on the expected sale and move of the franchise in the coming hours and days, but now is a time of mourning for the city -for the fans – for anybody who bleeds purple and black. If there was any deserving place more than Sacramento to have a franchise, it’s Seattle, who had the rug pulled from underneath their feet a few years back – but they also know the pain that comes with it.

As for the Maloof family, nothing but disgust. Awful, horrible, people.
