Kings' DeMarcus Cousins To Take Part In Kentucky Alumni Basketball Game

While it may not be the Goon Squad Classic, a handful of players who were scheduled to participate in that contest will be heading to Rupp Arena in Lexington this September to take part in the 2012 University of Kentucky Alumni game.

One of the biggest names partaking in the event will be Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins, who along with John Wall, Eric Bledsoe and many other former Wildcats will battle each other in a head-to-head charity game on the 15th of September. As you may recall, Cousins, Wall and others took part in a scrimmage against the Dominican Republic national team during last season’s lockout which proved to be quite an exciting matchup.

With a slightly different format this year though, the alumni game should feature a hefty collection of notable NBA talent with Kentucky ties that will make for one exciting evening.

For those in the area, tickets will go on sale Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. All seats are reserved for the game and are priced at $100 (premium lower level), $40 (lower level) and $20 (upper level).

The game is scheduled for a 2PM tip off.

Players expected to participate include the Kings’ own DeMarcus Cousins, Boston’s Rajon Rondo, Los Angeles’ Eric Bledsoe, New Orleans’ Anthony Davis, Washington’s John Wall and many more.
