Sacramento Kings And Golden State Warriors Talk Of Trading Draft Picks

The Golden State Warriors have shown some heavy interest in North Carolina’s Harrison Barnes, but, expecting the Tarheel to fall to the seventh pick in tomorrow’s NBA Draft seems unlikely given the Kings’ need for a small forward. So why not trade up if you’re the Warriors – and that’s exactly what Sam Amick is reporting. Sam-I-Am hopped on the Rise Guys show earlier today with Mark Kreidler and Whitey Gleason and proceeded to drop a few gems, one of them was that the Kings and Warriors have been in talks to swap their draft picks:

NBA big dawg @sam_amick: Warriors (No. 7) and Kings (No. 5) have discussed swapping picks. #RiseGuys@957thegame

Barnes actually worked out for the Warriors in a private setting where GM Bob Myers and owner Joe Lacob flew to New York to meet he and Andre Drummond, something Barnes did not do for the Kings.

Barnes falling to seven or eight as speculated by Tim Kawakami seems too good to be true for Warrior faithful as I can’t imagine the Kings passing on him assuming Kidd-Gilchrist or Thomas Robinson are off the board.
