Right when people were beginning to feel some comfort level with how the first seven picks of the NBA Draft were going to play out, the Bobcats went catawampus setting the whole exercise off-kilter beginning with the Number 2 pick. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports broke the news:
The Detroit Pistons have traded Ben Gordon and a lottery-protected draft pick in 2013 to the Charlotte Bobcats for Corey Maggette, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Tuesday night.
Much of the drama begins with the #2 pick. With Charlotte picking up Gordon, the speculation they would draft Beal appears moot at this point. Now their sights may be on Robinson, Kidd-Gilchrist, or even Barnes.
Adding to the tumultuous ride Chad Ford’s Mock Draft, Version 9.3, flipped-flopped from his earlier version, as later revisions are apt to do. Yesterday, he had Michael Kidd-Gilchrist going to the Sacramento Kings at the #5 with Barnes going to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Today Barnes drops to the Kings and MKG goes to Cleveland.
Hang on! There is still a lot of time for this wild ride to continue before it all ends.
