Earlier this morning, Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress reported that the Houston Rockets had a trade on the table for the Kings’ Tyreke Evans:
Sources say Houston has an offer of Lowry, the #14 and #16 picks for Tyreke Evans and the #5 pick on the table. Up to Sacramento to decide.
However, moments later, former Kings beat writer and current SI.com columnist Sam Amick debunked the rumored offer, citing two sources close to the situation:
Amick, who’s about as well respected as you can get in the Sacramento (and NBA) circles has proven time and time again to be the go-to-guy for Sacramento King news, so while few are doubting Givony’s report, the fact that Amick closed the door on it should be enough to end speculation on that.
Despite the dubunked trade rumor though, all is not well in the land of Evans as Amick also reported that the former Rookie of the Year isn’t exactly thrilled with the prospect of continuing at small forward for the upcoming season and let the Kings know of it:
Evans, who is eligible for an extension this summer but is instead headed for restricted free agency next summer, wants to return to a ball-dominant role and has informed the team that he no longer wants to play small forward.
