Few Sacramento Kings are held in higher regard then current Kings assistant coach Bobby Jackson, who’s tireless work ethic and heart on his sleeve style of play won over the purple and black faithful during his six plus year career in the state capitol.
The former Golden Gopher, who resided in Sacramento after his playing days were over, joined the Kings as a special assistant and then eventually as an assistant coach this past off-season. Now with a year of experience under his belt, he can add another bullet point to his basketball resume: head coach.
B-Jax, per the Sacramento Bee, announced that he will be the head coach of the Kings Summer League squad which will feature a heavy handful of the Kings young talent, from Jimmer Fredette to Isaiah Thomas along with the incoming rookies from the 2012 Draft.
Jackson and the Kings’ youthful contingent begin their quest for a Summer League title (har, har) July 12th in Las Vegas.
