DeMarcus Cousins Officially Named To USA Select Team

Unlike Tyreke Evans, who was a member of the USA Select Team previously and had no desire to return after an injury, Kings big man DeMarcus Cousins wanted a shot to participate with the Olympians. The Select Team, which practices and scrimmages against Team USA (and also serves as an injury replacement squad) was apparently interested in Cousins and the feeling was mutual. Thankfully, both sides got their wish this morning as the Kings franchise big was officially named to the team along with former Kentucky Wildcat teammate and Cousins BFF, John Wall:

USA Select team named: R.Anderson, Blair, Cousins, DeRozan, Favors, P.George, Gibson, Hayward, Irving, Leonard, Lin, K.Thompson, Wall.

Although there is always the injury risk, an off-season of basketball training with some of the best players in the league can only be viewed as a plus for Cousins and the Kings.
