Season Comes To An End For The Sacramento Kings

For the loyal purple and black faithful, the lockout shortened 2011-12 season was one of high’s and low’s that was book-ended by victories over the much hated Lakers. Between the first and final tips was a roller coaster ride that involved the emergence of DeMarcus Cousins, the stagnation of Tyreke Evans, the coming out party for Isaiah Thomas, the failure of J.J. Hickson and the assurance of a new arena that wasn’t. Needless to say, for a 22-44 team, there was no shortage of story lines or dramatic scenes.

But alas, with the season now over, the Kings will re-focus their energy on the NBA lotto as they marked their six consecutive season without a ticket punched for the postseason.

The Kings offseason, much like the regular season, will be one full of news – will Tyreke Evans remain in Sacramento? What’s to come of the NBA Draft? How will the Kings youth progress during the Summer League, what will the Kings do with their financial freedom and clearly, most importantly, what will happen in the arena saga?

Needless to say, there wont be any shortage of headlines this Summer.

So now we move into the offseason here at A Royal Pain. Make sure to check daily for team updates, starting with season ending report cards starting tomorrow and draft coverage soon to follow.
