Kings’ Isaiah Thomas Named Western Rookie Of The Month, Again

For a second consecutive month, pint-sized Kings point guard Isaiah Thomas has won the Western Conference Rookie of the Month award – joining Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers who won his third consecutive.

Thomas, who played sparingly early in the season, lost out to Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Ricky Rubio in January, but with the increased floor time Thomas bested Rubio for the February award. Thomas ran away with the award in March when Rubio went down mid-way through the month with a season ending injury.

Thomas joins Tyreke Evans as the only members of the Sacramento Kings to win consecutive Rookie of the Month awards and assuming he can win the award in April, would break both the franchise mark for consecutive months and also number of months named as Western Rookie of the Month.
