Amick - Sacramento Kings May Not Extend Tyreke Evans; Trade More Likely?

With a h/t to HPbasketball, Sam Amick dropped an inconspicuous, yet huge bomb in his morning trade piece centered around Josh Smith and Dwight Howard, relating to the Sacramento Kings.

Almost hidden towards the bottom of page one was this nugget:

Evans, who has one season remaining on his rookie contract and could be a restricted free agent next summer, simply doesn’t shine like he did in his debut. And if the Kings are convinced that Evans is likely gone after next season, they might be willing to move him for someone who can help expedite this slowest of rebuilding efforts.

Now granted, this really isn’t something most King fans didn’t know, per say, but it’s extra confirmation that it’s a possible reality – especially given the source as Amick is about as gospel as it comes when it relates to Sacramento Kings basketball.

If the Kings aren’t to extend Tyreke Evans, one would assume there’s no better time than the present to move the extremely talented yet unpolished talent given his value will only go down as contractual issues continue to near.

Either way, even if Evans sticks in Sacramento past this week, there appears to be some major concern within the Kings brass as it relates to Evans.
