Sacramento Kings, Chris Webber And The Glory Of Black Thursday

What a fantastic night – and I feel bad for even calling it “fantastic”, since it doesn’t even come close to doing it justice. From the players to the fans, everybody was on their A-game. Scott captured the magic of last evening in his terrific game recap.

The cameras were rocking from the arena noise. The players, who were continually hyping up Black Thursday on Twitter yesterday morning, were as energetic as I’ve seen this season. From the quick burst to start the game to the last minute comeback fueled by the fans – you couldn’t have scripted a more wonderful game for the city, the fans, the situation.

For those that weren’t in attendance and were only able to see the quick snippet of former Kings great Chris Webber receiving his “new” black jersey on TNT, you can watch it above thanks to KingsFlix.

Every King that spends a normal amount of time on Twitter (Isaiah Thomas, Tyreke Evans, Jason Thompson, DeMarcus Cousins, Marcus Thornton) all went out of their way to thank the fans last night for an amazing game – Reke even doing so in the locker room after the game:

King fans showed the country what it means to bleed purple and black last night. I couldn’t be more proud to be a Kings fan.

Operation Black Thursday = successful.
