As of today, it’s been a week since Andrei Kirilenko suited up to play for his current squad, CSKA Moscow – fueling speculation that AK-47 is in serious talks to return to the NBA.
Money has been an issue, as Kirilenko originally requested a deal of 4 years, $40 million – though his asking price has dropped significantly due to the lack of demand in that price range.
Slam Magazine’s international reporter Wendell Maxey reports this afternoon that AK-47 is currently weighing offers from both the Nets and Kings:
after going scoreless last sat. for cska moscow, andrei kirllenko hasn’t played since. weighing FA options with new jersey & sacramento.
Granted, we’ve known that Kirilenko had offers on the table from both the Kings and Nets, however, given the fact that Andrei still has yet to suit up in the past week likely means the reports of his staying in Russia are becoming less and less reliable.
As of now, it appears the likelihood of AK-47 returning to the NBA is pretty good.
