While I and many feared it would be the Miami Heat who were the biggest threat to snatch away Kings big man Samuel Dalembert, the threat has moved West to Clutch City as the Houston Rockets continue their onslaught at bringing in one of the best centers in the 2011 free agent class.
Rockets GM Daryl Morey traveled to meet free agent center Sam Dalembert in South Florida tonight, league sources tell Y!
Late last week, Dalembert shot down rumors that he’d accept a significant pay-cut to play for the Miami Heat and yesterday afternoon shifted his focus to the Houston Rockets who he himself claimed as “the best” when referring to their situation, both financially and roster wise.
Much like the Kings, Houston is far enough under the cap to sign Dalembert to a lucrative contract unlike the Heat who can only afford the $5 million dollar mid-level exception.
Minds change, no doubt, but right now Houston appears to be leading Sacramento in the chase for Sam I Am.
