Tyreke Evans Officially Signs To Play Overseas With Virtus Roma

Tyreke Evans isn’t the first Sacramento King to sign offshore during this lockout (J.J. Hickson had a one game stint before being released), but he’s hoping his go-about is more successful. The Kings star officially signed a deal to play with Virtus Roma yesterday although the contract wont be finalized until sometime on Wednesday. Assuming the lockout still remains in place, Evans would make his debut on December 3rd. The contract of course includes an out-clause if the NBA does resume action.

For me, as a Kings fan, I’m caught in the middle. I want Evans to continue to mature on the court and the only way he’ll be able to do so is with floor time – something he’s currently not getting and may not for quite some time. On the other hand, the risk of re-injury is in the back of your mind so its a tangled web of back and forth in the hollow depths of my brain.

How do you feel about Evans playing elsewhere? You okay with it? Prefer he wouldn’t do so?
